Incorporated into the Royal Welsh Spring Festival, the Royal Welsh Trail Running Festival takes place on Sunday 21st May 2017 and offers a series of thrilling trail races in the heard of mid-Wales.
Starting and finishing in the Royal Welsh Showground in Llanelwydd, Builth Wells, the challenging but scenic courses take in valleys, fields, woodland tracks and stunning forestry with breaktaking views of the iconic showground below.
The Festival offers up 10k and half marathon options for the more accomplished trail runner as well as 3k family fun trail and a toddler challenge for the youngest of competitors.
In addition to the trail races a come and try pentathlon will take place where participants of all ages can try long jump, shot step hurdles, speed bounce and sprinting.
Included with your place in the Trail Running Festival is a bespoke wooden commemorative medal, technical finishers t-shirt and entry to the Royal Welsh Spring Festival – a celebration of rural life with entertainment, workshops, livestock, trade stands and a food and drink quarter – the perfect place to unwind after running the trails.
The 2017 Trail Running Festival Half Marathon will incorporate the Welsh Trail Running Championships and Welsh Inter-Regional Trail Running Championships.
